#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER - Millions of people have fallen in love with Auggie Pullman, an ordinary boy with an extraordinary face--who shows us that kindness brings us together no matter how far apart we are. Read the book that inspired the Choose Kind movement, a major motion picture, and the critically acclaimed graphic novel White Bird.

And don't miss R.J. Palacio's highly anticipated new novel, Pony, available September 2021!

I won't describe what I look like. Whatever you're thinking, it's probably worse.

August Pullman was born with a facial difference that, up until now, has prevented him from going to a mainstream school. Starting 5th grade at Beecher Prep, he wants nothing more than to be treated as an ordinary kid--but his new classmates can't get past Auggie's extraordinary face. Beginning from Auggie's point of view and expanding to include his classmates, his sister, her boyfriend, and others, the perspectives converge to form a portrait of one community's struggle with empathy, compassion, and acceptance. In a world where bullying among young people is an epidemic, this is a refreshing new narrative full of heart and hope.

R.J. Palacio has called her debut novel "a meditation on kindness" --indeed, every reader will come away with a greater appreciation for the simple courage of friendship. Auggie is a hero to root for, a diamond in the rough who proves that you can't blend in when you were born to stand out.

Must read!
By: Dinanti Ginanda Alfian

This is a story about August Pullman. People said he's not an ordinary kid, just because he doesn't look like most kids. And other seems make it a pretty big deal, since they often call him names behind his back- not that august don't know that. and twhen people stare at him. He always know when people stare, but he's learned to accept that people will always stare, and there's nothing he can do about it.

After several year being homeschool, his parents- specifically his mom, wanted him to go to an actual school. Let's just say that decision wasn't a fairy tale for August..

I legitimately LOVE this book. It's that kind of book... See More

you can't NOT love. Every page I read, it gave me this feeling to hug auggie so tight that nobody would ever dare to say rude things, to spread false rumours about him. I wanted to protect him.

This book made me thinking about our cruel cruel world. A world that most people would judge a person by his look.

Definitely a wonderful read for all ages. Please, please do read this book, then let your life changed by this book.

Be kinder than is necessary
By: Fauziyyah Arimi

Wonder is my all-time favorite. It gives me all the things I could ask from a good fiction: nice characters, unusual yet interesting story, and moral insight. Wonder has the ability to move your heart. It has its way to make you look into yourself, thoroughly asking about being human to others and show us what is kindness exactly. A must read for everyone. A warning though, its a tear-jerker novel.

This really is a wonder.
By: Andien

"Wonder" is the story of 10-year-old August (or Auggie), who was born with a severe facial deformity. August had been homeschooled until now, but his parents wanted him to go out and enrolled him in Middle School (5th grade). He's so nervous because he didn't look like everyone else, and when people saw his face they instantly looked away. I’m pretty sure this time in a kid’s life can suck even if you have a normal face, so for August this year could be much much worse.

Wonder is told in several point of views, and by several I mean SIX POVs. All children’s, telling the story of August’s life. The number of perspectives could... See More

have become confusing and messy very easily, but it worked out brilliantly. The characters, both the children and adults, seem very real. Nothing, in fact, is the tiniest bit manipulative in this book.

Some moments really were a punch to my tear duct and as heart shattering as it could be. But you know there are some books that make you laugh, then ugly cry. Some books break your heart, then heal it. This is the one.

“You really are a wonder, Auggie. You are a wonder.”

Your value does not decrease by people's inability to see your worth.

"Wonder" really lifts up to its title. Reading this book makes you wonder. Wonder about how lucky you are to be living the way you are, and just how imbelic of you for never really wondering that.  And most importantly, it makes you feel wonderful.    It's simply a book about a simple boy named August who's living a simple life, but with a burden that isn't really as simple as everything else. He went through something so few of us would've understood. But through August's eyes, everything felt so real. His emotions so pure and benign that it's arousing, his actions so true and spontaenous that it felt factual, like he... See More
isn't just some character from a fictional book, but a real human being who does things we all do.    But what's amazing about this book is how August finally got past what he first thought was a 'burden,' into something that he then can accept as part of who he is. R.J Palacio did a wonderful job on developing her characters. We can see clearly how August gradually grows, from that boy who did nothing but hid under his shell, to the boy who finally dares to live the life he was supposed to. And I love how Palacio showed that change in such puerile ways through August's everyday life; how he interacts with his friends, his school experiences, his family, and even his dog. Every moment, every thought, every memory collided with each other and make perfect aspects to the newly transformed August we see in the end.     More so, we get to see from other's point of view like August's sister and his friends. So therefore we get to see not just what August thought of himself, but also how others viewed him.  That is a real crucial part of this book as through this numerous point of view was when I get to see the true quality in August. How he wasn't just that boy with a sob story to tell, but a boy who also did wonderful things likewise his physical concerns.    I flew throughout this book. It is just such a heartwarming book that did enough for me to see that everything I always thought I couldn't have doesn't really matter. Because what truly matters is those I have, and how I embrace them to the fullest.
