Description

#1 NATIONAL BESTSELLER - Two starcrossed magicians engage in a deadly game of cunning in the spellbinding New York Times bestseller that captured the world's imagination.

The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night.

But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway: a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors. Unbeknownst to them both, this is a game in which only one can be left standing. Despite the high stakes, Celia and Marco soon tumble headfirst into love, setting off a domino effect of dangerous consequences, and leaving the lives of everyone, from the performers to the patrons, hanging in the balance.

Not my cup of tea
By: Tania Anggastini

After reading Caraval and not quite satisfied with it, I heard that the night circus is so much better story compared to Caraval. At first yes, it was wonderful and attractive but you'd need to focus or you'd be lost to the plot. Then I realized the story is too slow for my liking. And I didn't get the point of the long and slow story. The similarities to Caraval are a Japanese side character and setting. And just it.

Not as good as I expected
By: Leanita Winandari

I thought I would love this book. But reading The Night Circus, somehow, makes me exhausted.

I love the premise, though. That's caught by my eyes and makes me decided buying this book. But for me this book is boring, too much descriptions and it makes me want to give up everytime. I can attach with its characters--ther are flat, one dimensional characters and there are no character developments.

It's just not my kind of book. I wish I could love this book. I tried to like it, but I just couldn't.

A book filled with pretty setting description. That's all.
By: Ganda Rakhman

If you look for a good storytelling, I cannot say you can find it here. This is not a character driven book. It has zero character development and sluggish pace with almost no plot progression.... Too much filler. The only correct praise is the lush description of setting... Try it if you like that kind of book.
