I was amazed by Cassandra’s ability to write these such great stories, especially the plot. I didn’t notice it when i read City of Bones before..
In this second book of The Mortal Instruments the main story is about Ritual of Infernal Conversion. From shadowhunter.wikia.com this ritual is use to buid an army of demons. To do this ritual Valentine needs The Mortal Sword and bloods of Warlock child, Fearie child, Werewolf child, and Vampire child. The Mortal Sword itself is usually use to adjudicate a shadowhunter during the trial.

Valentine had had blood of Warlock and Fierie, he still needs Werewolf’s and Vampire’s. So, he hunts Maia. She’s one of female member of Werewolf pack. And Simon. Why Simon?? A little bit flashback to City of Bones, he turned to a mouse in Magnus’s party and was kidnapped by vampires. He bitten one of those vampires so he had vampire’s blood in his. And because of jealousy he felt to Jace or and maybe Clary, he went to them and it can be told killed by them (just like the tansformation in The Vampire Diaries) then reborn as a Vampire.
Know that Valentine took Simon, Clary, Luke, and Jace go straight to the river where Valentine’s been to do the ritual. But it isn’t easy to rescue them, demons are everywhere. Maia could be saved from the killing, but Simon? It was too late for them to take him away. Valentine has took his blood… While i read this book, I like when Clary is with Simon. I wish they could be together haha..
