Of course the objects in this book are traditional Japanese, most of them are no longer in use, not even owned by Japanese people today. The objects described in this book have high artistic value and are generally only owned by Shinto or Buddhist shrines, wealthy families, rulers of his time or collectors of antic objects today.

There are about fifty-six items in this book, included in four categories, House and Garden; Possessions and Clothing; Eating, Drinking and Entertainment; and Custom and Religion.
