Gracefully written
By: Ruth Margareth

This book is straight narrative, has many characters that don't last until the end, but they way it's told is so effortless and full of grace that when you're left with open endings after some particular chapters, you feel like you have to stop and take deep breaths. Pachinko, I realize, is not a book that want to teach or patronize you with its plot and conflicts, rather it gives you spaces for judgement. At the end of it, your head will be so clouded with "why" and "what-ifs", and I guess we, the readers, have our whole lives to ponder upon the unfolding of this family saga.

It's been a long time since the very last time I read a book that kept me up all night. Pachink was one of them. Will dei

The fact that this novel has been named one of the 10 best books of 2017 by The New York Times tells all. The writer flawlessly mixes history and humanity aspects across four generations in Korea.

If you like historical fiction, then this is the right book for you
By: Merywati

The first book of Min Jin Lee that I’ve read and I like it. The book is so thick but it turns out not boring at all. Reading this book is actually like watching korean tv series, but a good one not a dragging one.
