I bought the book based on its really cool premise and due to the hype. The first and second part of the book are very draggy as this book is not plot-driven and it is pretty much about the characters and their lives and the writing. The writing itself is more poetic than V.E. Schwab's usual writing. I know this style of writing is not for everyone since it's very slow and focuses more on the characters than on creating an intense plot. What I really enjoyed was the last part, then it all made sense at the end. The ending was not as tragic as I thought it would be. It left me unsatisfied, yet left an imprint on my heart.
