Dale Carnegie describes the principles to get friends and influence others. Getting friends and influencing others is not easy. It takes hard work and practice to master this skill. Dale Carnegie provides many examples of real-life people in dealing with people. Successful leader according to Dale Carnegie, is not a dictatorial leader who leads by violence, also not a leader who is only mastering the job technical skill, but is a person who has a high ability in handling people. This book is designed as a guide for the reader to practice so as to gain skills in dealing with human beings.

A simple read but still very applicable!

The book was written back in the 1930s but the ideas that are presented in the books are still very much applicable in this day and time. The book is a simple read with lots of historical examples given by Dale Carnegie which are very relevant to the idea that he is presenting at the time. The ideas appear to be common sense and simple logic but applying them on a day-to-day basis is something that I believe most of us have forgotten in this age.

One downside in trying to share this book with colleagues (especially in Indonesia) is that not everyone understands the examples in the book. As the examples are mostly based on U.S. History, readers with a poor understanding of... See More

Overally, I would definitely recommend this book to working class people, be they simple employees or business owners, as the ideas in this timeless book will definitely help them in getting to know people better and overally just enjoy life better by being nicer to people.
