I call this a crossing between fairytale and fantasy. This story is darker than fairytale but not as dark as other fantasy story. I don’t usually love YA fantasy, but I enjoy this.

I didn't had high expectation for this one since I was quite disappointed with the retellings nowadays. I almost gave up when I hit few chapters because it was so slow and I thought it was going to be the same like two MCs would fall in love and they would live happily ever after, etc. But then we learned about Rhen's past, his sacrifice, Harper's world and also the epilogue is killing me. WHAT?! I can't wait for the sequel because the author emphasizes that there's no love triangle in this series. I can't wait to read what the author will bring to the tale.

Another beauty and the beast retelling story. This is one of those hype books in 2019. I do enjoy this book, even though for me it's boring sometimes and the characters are a little bit annoying. But I can't wait to read the sequel and I hope the story will be better. Also not to mention that it has pretty spine.

A Curse So Dark and Lonely is a reimagining of Beauty and the Beast with a darker theme. In this version, the Prince is forced to repeat the quest to find love over and over again each season, while causing more and more bloodshed each time. But after three-hundred seasons, this season will officially be the last one. If you love dark retellings you'll gonna love this book.
