I remember reading this in high school and thinking, damn, life is unfair (still think it is though). This book is like that. It makes you think, about life, about everything. Some might find this book difficult because reading about something injustice might make people feel uncomfortable. But that's why I think this book is also important. Injustice happens all the time, and we can't stay silent.
when i finished this book i felt like i just need for the world to stop for a moment, i want to lay in my bed and absorb all the words into my brain and my bones and my blood and my veins; soak up its wisdom.
this book taught me to stand up for whats right and to think for myself instead of following the masses, i couldnt thank Harper Lee enough for that.
Bored of John Grisham? Want to read a book that inspired a whole generation of lawyer to pursue their career? Well read this book. Follow along as a lawyer’s daughter as the lawyer defend an innocent African American man accused of raping a white woman. As you follow along, you’d understand how racial bias could affect proceeding in a court of law. But the key takeaway of this book is to never judge someone by what you hear from another person.
P.S. Don’t read the sequel if you don’t want your idea of Atticus Finch to be ruined
