It addresses many of the concerns of teenagers and the struggles of high school. You read about love, popularity and friendship but the book in general has a darker tinge to it . I couldn't put it down and even though i wish the circumstances could have been different for Sam ,the protagonist, I was left with a sense of optimism at the end.( which is kind of ironic but I think that was the author's aim to begin with) Anyway, I definitely reccomend this book to anyone who enjoys an original way of writing! Some parts were even quite humorous which you wouldn't expect considering the subject matter!This is Lauren Oliver's first novel and I'll definitely be looking out for the novels to come!
