When a troubled supermodel falls to her death from the balcony of her London home, it is assumed that she has committed suicide. However, her brother has his doubts and calls in private detective Cormoran Strike to investigate.

Strike is a war veteran--wounded both physically and psychologically--and his private life is in disarray. The case gives him a financial lifeline, but it comes at a personal cost: the more he delves into the young model's world, the darker things get and the closer he comes to terrible danger.

"Published to huge acclaim from readers, reviewers, and writers everywhere, "The Cuckoo's Calling "is a compulsively readable crime novel, the first in a series featuring private detective Cormoran Strike."

First Book of Cormoran Strike
By: Dine Rostianti

Robert Galbraith created a male lead character, Cormoran Strike, with a miserable life. Disabled, family background is far from perfect, dumped by his girlfriend, business is in a state of deterioration and has no adequate place to live. In this first book, Cormoran Strike is described as being in a deteriorating condition of life.

The first case he faced was related to the family of his childhood friend, the murder of a model who was initially suspected of suicide. At the end of the story it turns out the killer was very unexpected beforehand. Robert Galbraith in this first book managed to create an interesting mystery, with the end of the story that is not cliché.
