This book is a unique and uplifting tale of a boy who lives a thousand year, yet still remains young at heart. It had everything, a great plot, characters, and idea. I liked Roxy who was the definition of what we all aspire to be: funny, smart, kind, talented etc. Not only did it turn the pages itself and excite you to no end, but this book carried a different moving message, which made me thinking about the idea of living forever.

This story is unusual yet very exciting. It tells us about friendship and family. Once you read it, you just can't put it down.

Living forever might sounds great but after living for one thousand years, it can get pretty tiring. Especially if you’re stuck in an eleven-year-old body. Especially when you’re left alone. That was what happen with Alfie Monk. All he wanted was to grow old and die. I fell in love with Alfie Monk in an instant and my heart ached for him for all his loss and pain he suffered.

This book was intended for middle grade children, yet as an adult, I found it tremendously astonishing. Will definitely read Ross Welford’s other books after this. And will strongly recommend it to everyone.
