“Brutally candid” are the perfect words to represent this book. Carolina Setterwall recounts her experience in detail, describing her feelings and thoughts at the time and situation. Even though we, the readers, have a different way of life than carolina's, we don’t have the same ideology as Carolina’s, and will not choose a life path like Carolina, we can understand her thoughts and feelings when facing her ordeal. Even though Carolina expressed how chaotic her feelings and thoughts, her determination, and strong efforts to survive and escape from depression showed how tough she was. I applaud Carolina's strong connection to family, friends and co-workers. Not just sympathizing but getting involved in helping Carolina deal with life's difficulties. A reminder that humans are truly social creatures who need other humans to survive.
