Between 3−4 stars rating, 09 October 2020 Fun and rich with myth
By: Farah Fakhirah
This was a really fun read! It was a story about a girl wanting to be a hero and wanting to be accepted by her peers. Nizhoni Bengay is a nobody on school, except that she can see monters, like a real monsters. So, when one of the monsters threaten to harms her community, friends, and family, she put a game plan of her own. But nobody seems to believe her, at least, until they were forced to fave the monster themselves. Rich in Navajo myth, this book is full of adventure and trials for Nizhoni and Mac, both continiously grows through the story, each trial they have prove that they are much more than they seem, and that to be a hero is to sacrifoce a lot of things. Both Nizhoni, Mac, and Davery, their friend make quite a team together. In the end, like Nizhoni said, being a hero is not being known to other people, but to people that matters to you
