If you are wanting a gentle opener to anatomy and physiology that isn’t dry textbook, this is the book. History and data is presented in matter of fact way while his personality comes through without being overbearing or excessively persuasive. Usually books written like this keeps me asking which is fact and which is opinion but I feel the balance was done nicely and the opinion was more narrative flare. I also enjoy the bits of history that isn’t often shared on anatomy and physiology. I wouldn’t consider this book one that should be taken as the authority but it’s a good place to ignite rabbit trails. Nothing is hidden when the material is hidden. Even the topic of vaccinations was respectfully handled and if you want more you were presented with bits of information that will set you on your way down a rabbit trail.
