First of all, I read this book because of the hype, and it's worth it. I'm not a person who live among black people, but I knew the feel of being a minority, maybe just like Maya, the character from the book which is an Asian and is a minority. This knowledge is new to me, I mean, black people get shots just because he's black. I've read about Rosa Parks before, how she got arrested because she didn't give up her bus seat for white people.
