Jack Reacher novels are best known for 3 things: small city on the backwood of America, small cop or military mystery connection, and Reacher acting as a judge, jury, and executioner while enacting his weird moral act. This book is not it. First off, it’s in some European exotic locale. Second, its in his days as an MP, so there’s still a military connection, albeit overemphasized. And lastly, he has to do his job and still play by his own rule.
So, it’s no wonder that this book is not as well liked as the rest. It’s almost as if this book is written as a script play to be sold for a Hollywood blockbuster. Well at least we get a glimpse of younger Jack Reacher.
