I do, I really do want to love this book. But I can't.

I gave this book a month to read, longer than I usually read. Why so long? Because I can't read it! This book is too painful, too disturbing. The writer always gives unnecessary details about things that don't need to be detailed. Believe me, I love psychological thriller novel, but this one is too much. Too painful because of the details that, actually without it, we get the picture already.

My Absolute Darling follows  a  terrible relationship between 14 year old Turtle, Julia and survivalist father, Martin, who has stockpiled dried food that will last 3 years. Turtle is a-fourteen-year old girl and lives with her father Martin. She goes to middle school but is a very reserved girl who has difficulties fitting in school. One day she meets a boy named Jacob, a kid that is charming, funny and completely lovable. This encounter ignites a spark in Turtle that propels her to question the relationship she has with her father. 

I suppose many readers will find this book very disturbing in the beginning and, I can deeply understand because it potrays violent, guns and whatanot.

Despite the strong content scenes of this book, the author has made it well written, yet compelling.
