Can’t Smurf Progress and Brainy Smurf’s Walk
By: Dine Rostianti

This book consists of two stories, Can’t Smurf Progress and Brainy Smurf’s Walk. The first story contains an incident in the smurf village when Papa Smurf is out of the village. Smurf help each other to do their daily tasks. At first, the smurfs asked Handy Smurf to make a machine that could help ease their work, but then they asked for machines that could do all their work and daily activities so they could laze around all day. The machines became slaves of the smurf until an unexpected event occurred when one of the engines changed to have its own ambitions and turned to make all the machines enslave the smurfs.

Brainy Smurf’s Walk tells of the visit of... See More

Brainy Smurf and friends to another smurf village containing female smurfs with each individual having their own character. Although the story of the female smurf village is a variation of the original smurf village, I personally prefer the original smurf village with all its stories.

The smurf story is always funny, entertaining and there are lessons to be learned, especially about their brotherhood and cooperation.
