This is a YA contemporary story, about a girl with bipolar disorder. It follows Mel Hannigan who has recently been diagnosed having mental ilness. She learnes her bipolar disorder from her doctor and how to handle it. However, She, a 16-year old girl, finds it really hard to manage her situation, instead she would like to crawl into a hole and she'd rather just take the pills and bolt the sessions.

To make things worst, Mel's older brother, Nolan, die and her parents get a divorce soon after Nolan's death. Mel makes all new friends at her 'new' school after she and her mom moved.
