Dystopian YA is one of my favourite genres but most books I read in the last couple of years failed to induce me to give 5-star (I had plenty of 4-stars)...until Ready Player One. I wouldn't say that I'm nerdy or geeky whatsoever and there was a lot of references I didn't get (at least until I googled them), but it definitely didn't stop me from extremely enjoying the book. Superb world building, likeable characters, crazy actions, endless pop-culture easter eggs, and compelling human interactions. I haven't had so much fun with a book in a long time. The only downfall? Cline has confirmed he's writing a sequel...I don't think it can beat this one so will just hope it'll be as enjoyable.
