Masterpiece
By: Leanita Winandari

Although Haruki Murakami is my all-time favorite author, it takes me a long time to finally finish this book. It is not because I decide to give up or the story is kind a boring one. But by reading this slowly makes me more involve to the story--I can't explain why, because I don't know the answer.

It's still typical Murakami writing, but I still love it. It's thrilling, sweet, gloomy, and every feelings I can't even describe. 1300+ pages maybe too much for some readers, but I can enjoy every pages of it. Reading this book or every Murakami's books) brings to another world that don't exist in the real one--and I don't mind it even it's an absurd one.

Beautiful masterpiece
By: Annisa Mardhiyah

The best of Murakami's work I think.

this 1328 pages doesn't make me feel bored at all! the more I read, the more I couldn't stop. When I realize, I already got deeper into the thrilling yet sweet world of Aomame and Tengo.

The emotion is real. This book is a beautiful masterpiece!

Nothing is quite what it seems in this story.
By: Antonius B.

Haruki Murakami's protagonists are always amateur sleuths, seeking to solve a small mystery, a set of seemingly innocuous contradictions barely noticed, that captivate the hero, such as the enigmatic goings-on in a Tokyo suburb in his masterpiece The Wind-up Bird Chronicle (or one that captivate a boy-hero, as in Kafka on the Shore) and thus leading the hero to deeper understanding of the rampant corruption and violence of his or her world.

1Q84 is no different. Taking this typical Murakami narrative model into a mildly dystopic alternative world, Harukami is able yto give an endlessly engaging lore, giving in turn an alternate view of one's own world.
