Description

Spirited and whip-smart, these laugh-out-loud autobiographical essays are "a masterpiece" from the Emmy Award-winning actress and comedy writer known for 30 Rock, Mean Girls, and SNL (Sunday Telegraph).
Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update," before "Sarah Palin," Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV.
She has seen both these dreams come true.
At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live; from her passionately halfhearted pursuit of physical beauty to her life as a mother eating things off the floor; from her one-sided college romance to her nearly fatal honeymoon -- from the beginning of this paragraph to this final sentence.
Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've always suspected: you're no one until someone calls you bossy.
(Includes Special, Never-Before-Solicited Opinions on Breastfeeding, Princesses, Photoshop, the Electoral Process, and Italian Rum Cake )

Laugh Away!
By: Ernestine Oktaviana Yuniswara

I was tricked. I bought this book because it was displayed on bussiness and management section on Periplus Store, next to some fancy great leadership book. I was taking organizational behavior and management classes that time, in need for some light reading about my study subject.  That time, I thought this book might come handy.

The moment I open the first page, I realize that this is NOT a management/leadership book. Someone must be putting the book in the wrong place. But, well, this book is quite entertaining. Of course it is funny, Tina Fey herself wrote the book! (HINT: If you do not know who Tina Fey was, she's a comedian, writer of SNL and the math teacher... See More

in Mean Girl). She retold her life stages in a very funny way. Some chapter even really touching. You will also find some life lesson behind the jokes.

But I'm not a fan of Tina Fey, so even this book is really, really entertaining, somehow I couldn't connect with her. I might enjoy this book more if only I were a Tina Fey fan. So if you are familiar with her, and need a laugh (or lots of laugh), go ahead and grab this book!

A Stress Shrinker
By: Brenda Gracia

Let's admit it, people buy this book because it's written by Tina Fey. Once a friend who is sceptical with this written by celebrity-book asked me "Come on, after that Kendall and Kylie book, why would we buy something that is ghost written?." In fact, I told this person why would a TV personality whose monologues in SNL never fail to impress me, ask someone to write a witty book using her name?

It's hard to explain how much I like Tina Fey, then I read this book and I like her even more. Fey tells about her childhood, the beginning of her career (a moment that every fresh graduate can relate to), her dream job, and her family. I like it when Fey put... See More

her two cents on gay issue (telling about her homophobic teacher) and growing up matters (first period and first visit to a gynecologist).

Either you are Fey's fan or just craving for a book that can make you laugh and think at the same time, go grab this book and find yourself laughing at the prologue.

An Inspiring Book for All Women
By: Conny Simanjuntak

Tina Fey is known for her comedic writing and also intelligent sayings; one of the many reasons I love this book! I am glad I bumped into this book way back in 2012. Even the cover is great! The introduction of the book is hilarious! This book includes her real life stories about her own family, feminism and how she managed to create 30 Rock, which inspires me every day. As a woman, I feel like we need more books like this; how women view the world.

All in all, everything in this book is recommended to read, so grab yours now and get ready to be inspired!

Yeay Fey!
By: Yanti Amalia

This book is so Tina Fey. If you already seen some of her works on screen, you must know what kind of comedy she writes (i.e. Mean Girls, 30 Rock, SNL). It's this kind of smart hyperbolic metaphor that surprisingly is very grounded and you could really relate to what she wrote. You'll find yourself laughing and nodding when you read this book.

I read this book because I already like Tina Fey in the first place. So if you wanted to know her better, especially about her work as the first female headwriter on Saturday Night Live, or her 30 Rock project (her experience of working with some big names in Hollywood showbiz and dealing with their shenanigans), or just her... See More

work in general as a writer, this book is your bible.

You could also get a hint of her personal life: a story of supposed-to-be-romantic honeymoon cruise that went wrong, or her struggle of being a mother since the very beginning of her daughter’s life, and even a sweet prayer she wrote for her daughter (yes, this time you would be laughing and tearing at the same time).
