Description

Patrick Ness's Carnegie Medal-winning masterwork is poised to attract a discerning crossover audience.

The monster in Conor's backyard is not the one he's been expecting -- the one from the nightmare he's had every night since his mother started her treatments. This monster is ancient. And wild. And it wants something from Conor. Something terrible and dangerous. It wants the truth. From the final idea of award-winning author Siobhan Dowd -- whose premature death from cancer prevented her from writing it herself -- Patrick Ness has spun a haunting and darkly funny novel of mischief, loss, and monsters both real and imagined.

One of the best books I've ever read
By: Titie Andelina Wiji

Without a doubt one of the best books I have ever read my entire life. The way the story unfolded just caught off guard. The way it was written was mind-blowingly captivating.  The book seemed so real and relatable. And I cried a couple times, which says a lot from someone who hardly ever sheds any tears when reading.  This is just a masterpiece.  All I need to do now is watch the movie. Can't wait for everyone to experience its ultimate greatness. If you haven't read it, you're missing out. So go do yourself a favor and pick it up.  Oh yeah, get prepared for the beautiful illustration. Jim Kay is so freaking talented.

Breathtaking. I can't even describe my feelings into words. This book completely took me from this world while reading it. Very beautiful yet torturing. Everyone should read this book immediately.
